Dear Park-RIP

just outside of our town, there was a unique little park, which sheltered a herd of very tame dear. It was not unusual to pass by and see several cars parked by the fence and families tossing apples, corn, etc. to the dear on the other side. Until about 3 years ago, when after years of fighting it, the little dear park gave way to progress and became another kind of park. No dear there, only Walmart, Sam`s Club, and a host of other huge stores. What a sorry end to a lovely little spot.

Love the photo, love the story, except for the unhappy ending ~~~ damned those big chains!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you. A lot of people are unhappy with the ending of that little park. It had once been a GM proving ground for tanks. GM had been trying to sell it for some time, with a lot of resistance from many people in the town. The park was in between a GM factory and my church, now instead of dear, it`s shoppers. Ugh!

awesome photograph! F'n Walmart and shoping plazas, they just can't stop, greedy freaks! Any way wonderful photo and just another reminder to stop the progression of unneeded buildings.

Artist Reply: Thanks for the comments and my thoughts exactly on the unneeded plaza`s and Walmarts. I do not shop there.
