P47 thunderbolts of the 353rd fighter squadron 354th fighter group take off from Rossieres-en-haye (A98)in December 44, on yet another bombing mission in support of the fighting in the ardennes - the Battle of the Bulge.The forground P47 belongs to Maj Glenn Eagleston boss of the 353rd FS and at this point an ace with 16.5 victories emblazoned on the side of his plane.Already airbourne is Captain Kennith.H.Dahlberg in FT-O and Lt Chuck.A.Olmsted in FT-J. The 353rd FS the 'Pioneers' had a short spell on P47's before returning to their beloved P51 Mustang's in Feb 45 and by wars end was the top scoring AAF squadron with 21 aces and 295 victories.
