Acrylic on paper. I woke and attempted to reach for the stars. Again. I always refuse to accept the distance as being an obstacle. I opened my hand and waited for energy. The pulse never came. "I give up," I shouted to the moon, which still hung over the misty dawn light. My arms, still empty, embraced a rainbow that spun into the room. "This will do just fine," I said to the cat, who stared up at me with indifference.
