Snowy Mill

This painting was done at a hobby shop in Holly, Mi., 30 years ago during the Dickens festival, beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving. The shop owner had asked me to set up and paint in her shop.I was happy to. She had displayed some of my early paintings in her store, and got me my first sale. Because it was the first one, she refused to take a consignment fee. This painting is not for sale, one of my daughters has it.

I've just been looking at some of your work Joan. This one stood out for me, not even sure why maybe it's the composition or a feeling of being 'complete' but whatever it is I am enjoying this work particularly.

Artist Reply: Thank you very much for your kind words. Doing this painting was a lot of fun, and I learned I could focus on my work in even with a lot of commotion around me. And when I go to my daughters, there is that painting. It still brings back nice memories.

It is a beautiful painting, Joan, and I wouldn't want to part with it, either, if it were mine!
