The Infinite Continuum with the Lanterns Still Lit

This drawing serves as a rendering of the violent defeating the passive; not only in this drawing, but in life. The warriors by direction of the king were sent to destroy the resistance to his overpowering rule. They drive to charge these men of wisdom into the furious sea. The fish wait for their plummet, but sympathize after seeing the speared bodies of humans and a fish rising out of the waters. A dead body has its soul escaping from its flesh, and being guided by winged creatures. But from the sea there are hands rising to reclaim what had been taken. One of the men about to die uses power of mind to attempt to drive the water from the docks, while another is meanwhile taken out to sea. In the back of the warriors, one of them raises their spear to sky realizing the wrong of the actions being taken. The king is to his left, with a winged serpent on his spear, with a baby rising from his crown symbolizing his heir to his wicked throne. A dead body lies on the steps, leading to a tree formed by the dead bodies and souls that the king murdered. In its branches it grasps an angel hoping to grab life. Another angel is also grasped and even having the flesh ripped off and wings destroyed; underneath but another angel is collecting the feathers being lost. Various angels around are coming to help the distressed. Strange figures waltz across the backs of them assisting with the destruction. An angel holds a mortal girl who is crying because of heavenly and earthly doom. Lastly, a human flies up to the heavens a fallen angel who is the hope through darkness for heaven (or a lantern for heaven) while on earth there are three red lanterns leading from death to life.

This piece is a nice balance of Hieronymus Bosch and the dark side and Edward Hopper's luminous light. This is a finely detailed and unified piece. Keep making us proud Kaidan! Your TRHS HS Art Teacher Ms. K
