I had another idea for a birthday card, after I realized that Beware Imps Bearing Gifts wouldn't work for this person. It's long after the birthday now, and I'm only just maybe finishing this. But I could still really use some advice.

If you wander over to my deviantArt gallery, you can see the work-in-progress, from sepia ink (Staedler ink pen) and watercolor to more watercolor to adding colored pencil. What have I done right? What can I still improve or change (I've got more paint and more Prismacolor pencils)? What should I just do differently next time?

By the way, I'm not convinced this illo is right for the birthday in question, either, darn it. I'm gonna run over to next birthday at this rate.
