Acrylic on Canvas 16 X 20 inches 40.5 X 51 cm Szechenyi Lanchid or Chain Bridge, is the first in the artist’s series featuring Budapest and the Danube river which traces its way through the city separating the two sides, Buda and Pest. Painted from the shores of the Pest side after dusk, the illuminated Chain Bridge casts its glow onto the dark waters beneath. The rolling hills on the Buda side are brought to life only by the small lights of the dwellings on the shore and of the majestic Buda castle sitting atop, overlooking the scene. This is one of the very rare pieces by the artist which do not follow his impressionist and post impressionist influences.
