Nice depiction of the site. I saw visited it about fifteen years ago. I was disappointed that we couldn't get too near the stones, but it was still amazing to see.

Artist Reply: i have to agree with you Dan...........I know this painting concentrates on the henge, but you really have to see the surrounding landscape with all the burial mounds to appreciate just how important this whole area must have been to the ancient people :o))

I was there in 1979. My paratrooper unit was training in the Salisbury plain. I loved the whole trip. Took a lot of photos, but they disappered. I think someone nicked them.

Artist Reply: Hi Timothy. Thanks for sharing your memories of Salisbury Plain. You get so caught up in the atmosphere of Stonehenge that you forget the military activity that surrounds it. It is so mean that someone took your photos, but I'm a firm believer in karma so no good will come of it for them!
