The Once and Future King (2007)

This is the once and future King of Louisiana. He holds his scepter in the right hand and the Sacred Heart in the left. He wears St. Michael's wings, but not his halo. This is part of a Louisiana Diptych.

Powerful is the word that this first brought to my mind, too, due to the bold colors, large hands and posture. But when I really look I see benevolence and wisdom and grief. Very moving, David. I look forward to the other two pieces.
