17x14 Pastel on Paper As the title hints, this piece is a depiction of the psychological ideals of repression and regression within the human psyche. It depicts a figure on a crucifix made from the golden arches of commercial society together with a Cycladean doll representing the ideal woman or every woman. The broken ladder represents the unattainable goal of human development each rung being a principle along the way. The sunflowers are overpowered by the wills of man and society yet they haven't been destroyed.
