My Beautiful Brugmansia

This is one of the many flowers on my beautiful Brugmansia tree which is in one of my gardens. It belongs to the Solanaceae family, which is actually native to subtropical regions, but I have been very successful in coaxing mine into a thriving plant here in the Bay Area. It is often confused with the Datura plant, which we also grow with great success. The flowers emit a delightfully citrus like scent in the early evening, which fills the garden with an intoxicating perfume for me to enjoy. Both plants have been historically used in Vision Quest ritual, and I have had wonderful experiences when when working with the spirits of the plants. This particular blossom is about eighteen inches long, with the bell opening about eight inches across. Captured by "Snap Shot Susan". Great image and the history of the plant in the Latin countries is pretty wild as they are not so hesitant to use the lovely tea. In a controlled manner of course. Great work and narrative. Michael
