Ode to the TV repairman.
I am of the generation that was born after WW II and before the space race took off to capture the American imagination of progress. As a child I remember the TV repairman coming to the house fixing a burned out tube in the TV. During my childhood an entire industry basically died before my eyes with the advent of transistors, circuit boards and cheap TV's easier to replace than to repair the TV Repairman faded into the distance like the DuMont's they used to repair.
