Symbolically a bridge is reaching out to connect two opposites. Which is beautiful in itself, but the Golden Gate Bridge is so much more than that. It moves me to the core of my being as I read the story of how it came to life: http://www.californiahistorian.com/articles/golden-gate-bridge.html.
