Sun Burst

This is the first to hopefully a new line of ideas and art pieces, yes I am talking about the use of plaster of paris, this piece was so much fun to make! I molded the sun, then painted it with metalic paint, covered it with a mixture of different types of 'gold leaf' to help give this piece a real aged/sun look to it. I then added a gloss to the piece, which helped in some of the aging process, if you look real closely you can see some of the copper leaf actually turned green during the glossing process. Like I stated, it helped to add to the aged look of the finished piece. After the glossing of the piece, I then added some gems to it to help add a little more brightness, and contrast. The finished piece is approx. 8", and ready for your wall!
