This is the first painting finished since producing the fossil paintings for my summer show- it felt really good to produce an abstract after painting a collection of carefully observed studies. This piece is, as usual, inspired by a Venetian crumbling wall. Whilst producing this piece I decided to produce a series of red and white paintings as I simply love the way the two colours react to one another- so- hopefully this is the first of many.
