Lavender & Lemonade

Sold at auction: NC Museum of Art. This painting was one of the most charming of spots, yet without sentimentality. As a lavender festival was going on around the property of this farm, the porch had many things that generally went unnoticed. This scene in particular captivated me...what a great combination - fresh cut lavender, one small frond propped inside a glass of fresh lemonade to add flavor, an old table and bench offering a visual sense of relaxation.
