Loki Baby

Drawing of my youngest Border Collie at 15 weeks - right at the start of the "puppy uglies" when all the body parts are growing at different rates. The photo is of my handsome young man now at 16 mos. old and he's matured nicely. Loki is quite the character and has so far gotten me knocked over by a sheep causing a major concussion amongst various other "adventures". He's a doll and I love him to bits, but he is well named after the Norse god of mischief and fire!

Delightful image!! Good name too! =D

Artist Reply: Thanks Carla, I'm glad you liked this piece. For the first 6 weeks of his life, we called him Trouble. He was the brat of the litter. But in the canine fancy, there is a bit of a superstition about being careful of what name you give your dog because the dogs tend to live up to the name. Even though I thought Trouble fit him pretty well I felt that Loki was a bit of a better choice. It's SO him though!

Aaaaaw! He's adorable, and you caught a look of innocence and playfulness.........very nice.............

Artist Reply: Thanks Lisa :-) I think I was getting after him about something when I took the photo of him that I used for reference for this piece and he was like "What? You didn't see me do it!" He's totally spoiled because he's so darned cute and he is a charmer - he gets away with all sorts of stuff my older dogs didn't when they were younger.

What a babydoll!!! Awesome drawing Jeanne!!! Wonderful detail work! We have one that comes to work named Roxy...she cons me into giving her cookies every time she comes...she gives me "the eyes" lol

Artist Reply: Thanks Laurie :-) He can definitely be a babydoll and he loves to snuggle, but when you put him on sheep he's a whole different critter. He's got some horns holding up that halo - LOL!
