This painting was inspired by a beautiful boat trip taken to the three Venetian islands Burano, Murano and Torcello. The telephone number of a glass factory had been painted on a wall but the paint had eroded to leave a bleached out effect. The numbers used were personal to me on the day of the trip- date, ticket number etc.

This is VERY wonderful. The textures are lovely and the compostion is strong. The numbers add a decided dash of mystery.
