Northern Goshawk

Animal Art

Northern Goshawk
(Accipiter gentilis)
A powerful raptor of northern forests, the Northern Goshawk is the largest North American accipiter (AK-sip-e-ter). It maneuvers through dense woods, taking prey as small as squirrels and as large as grouse, crows, and snowshoe hare. The Northern Goshawk is found across northern America and Eurasia. Most of the Eurasian races have much more dark barring on the chest than the American form, but about half of all Siberian goshawks are nearly white.

Wildlife artist Kathie Miller has captured her with loving details in colored pencils.

This is breathtaking. I have always loved to do birds. They make the best subject matter. Never take this from your book. I haven't even looked at your other art and I KNOW this is your strongest piece. Incredible.

This one just doesn't even seem like it could be a drawing. It looks like it should be in the photography section. Love it
