Had the right idea with the light, needed more contrast though, to define the stones also to give it more dimension.
Artist Reply: I agree...I may do this again, but use granulating paints for the rocks to add more texture and deepen the crevice tones...This is a 30 foot wall right out my sliding back door, so I get lots of time to study it:)
