I am the nephew and absolutely love this picture. I have it displayed in my dining room. It was a total surprise and much appreciated! I would love to know the "unsigned" person who knew my great aunt. Also I think it is time for a self-portrait--it would be like a picture of my aunt and grandmother--Ruth looks so much like her.

There is something touching about the story and the portrait. I can always feel when the artist has some connection either with the person or the commissioner. You wanted to to a good job and it shows. It has that quality of an antique photo. It's so nice when artists immortalize their subjects. It's our little gift to humanity.

Oh what a beautiful woman! I love this , the eyes and the hair are perfect. I really love the colors also, really looks like an old photograph.
