I have a print 16x20 Glorious Morning by Nora DeBolt, Is it worth anything?

I just purchased two' what I think are water colors, that are signed in white letters. The frames are very old and the matting is watered taffeta. Both are of children at the beach and are about 8 x 10. The frames have been painted gold and the only damage I could find was on the backing.

Hi I bid on the two Nora DeBolt prints and paid $31.75 for the pair. There are no numbers on them so I was wondering how you can tell when they were printed. Thanks!

Artist Reply: I cant advise on your max bid. I can tell you this: The artist is no longer living. There are no originals in existence that I am aware of. The companies that ran the prints are either out of business in the us or they no longer run Debolt prints. (There is one company out of the U.S.-that I do not know if they are still in bus.) The prints are rare in that respect.

I am wanting to bid on two of Nora De Bolts prints one is of two girls and a boy standing in water with two kids in the back round and the other is a three kids under an umbrella at the beach. The starting bid is $10 for the pair. I think they are 16 x 20. Are they more valuable as they are a pair?

**the label on the back shows La Tourette's Gallery and the address at the time was 1808 W. Whittier bl. Montebello,CA. The frames are in excellent condition as are the prints any help you can give me would be appreciated. thank you

Artist Reply: The Gallery only framed the prints. Duck Pond and Strolling would be prints, but it is doubtful they are numbered. Your only option is to remove them from the frames. I suspect they are not signed as, as many of her prints that are out there, none that I know of were signed or numbered.

Hello, I found two prints at a thrift store, one Strolling and the other I believe is called Duck Pond. They were framed at a gallery in Ca.with an address from 20-25 years ago. (I found them on line and called) How can I tell if they are numbered prints without taking the backing off the frame, and which company printed them, also if there is any value to them. thank you for your time

I am looking for the print "A Day at the Beach" I have the one fo the 3 children making sand castles under the umbrella. I have had my print for a very long time, it reminds me of my own children. If anyone can help me find it I would appreciate it.

Artist Reply: I saw the other half to your print sell on Ebay a short while ago. .You should do a search list there and you can be notified whenever a Debolt print goes up for auction. Good luck in finding that print..it is rare. If I should happen to run across one, I will try tocontact you.

Hello, I have , I believe, a print called "A Day at the Beach" with a white signature Nora DeBolt in the bottom left corner.It has a little boy on the left with two girls in the center and two boys in the background to the far right-one standing the other sitting on a rock,A beautiful ocean scene. Artist Reply: It is one of a pair and quite rare. I have photos of the pair. I cannot tell you when or where it was painted, but Nora did venture in to this subject for a short time. Congratulations on your new print!

Hello Ms. Lewis. I bought a Nora DeBolt print with a signature in the lower left of the print (may not be a real signature). The print is of a woman in a blue dress and a little girl in a pink outfit sitting in some pink flowers by a lake, and there are trees above the sitting pair, also with pink blossoms. I wonder when it was painted, and printed, and if she is still alive, I can't find anything biographical on her. Thank you for your time.

hi yes, it is matted and framed. i assume it is the original frame/matting due to the sticker being on the back of the frame. the frame is 32 cm accross and 28 cm top to bottom

Artist Reply: This is a very popular Debolt print. It is actually a companion piece, but I do not know the title.I do have a picture of it saved on my computer tho. i have the norma de bolt work called strolling, i think it is a print, it has a sticker on the back which reads manuscript series 849 could you please tell me how much if anything this is worth? thanks

Artist Reply: Strolling is a beautiful painting. What size do you have and is it matted and framed? They seem to be better valued if they are still in the original matt and frame. If is a small one, like a 16 x 20 you could get probably $25-40. But if it is the large print, 24 x 30..these are currently being sold at Ebay for 60.00 to 125.00. I have not seen one go for less. Artist Reply: Hello! Thank you for looking at the study. Here is what I can tell you. If your painting is an original it is very rare and very valuable. If it is a print, the prints are becoming more and more rare as the company that ran them has released less and less of them. Right now you could probably get approx 50.00 or more for your print. Hang on to it. And contact me again in the future sometime for updates. Thanks
