I know Gascón since 1971. He's a well known baker and sculptor. If you taste his cakes, you won't feel only pleasure; you're sinning :-) His hands do pure magic in bakery and studio. I was with him in a very special event: few weeks ago the Council placed one of his sculptures in a new and beautiful public square, near my home. A second piece will be placed soon in another town square. It was a success for both of us: Gascón got a well deserved tribute in his hometown. While I was smiling, Gascón was almost crying when hearing the town authorities' speeches. My friend left the art because of his business and activities as a bakery teacher. Every time I meet him, the same "psalm": "You haven't the right to leave art. Your skills are a gift. It's your duty to give a legacy. Anybody can make cakes; only a few can do art". I did it again and again. And finally, one day he told me in a shyly way: "I'm working on new pieces. Thank you for your advices" and it made me very happy. When the news about my poster (Reporters Without Borders) appeared in the newspaper, Gascón was the first one to do a phone call and say "Congratulations, my friend. I'm so happy for you!". Thank you for your friendship, thank you for your art, José Luís!. --- I plan to let you know more samples of his amazing art.
