playing with gold

In a downtown Cairo street, there's a shop that sells art supplies. The walls are lined from top to bottom with bits and pieces and supplies for the artsy... by mere chance, i found a gold pencil made in what was once czechslovakia.... it works brilliantly on black fabriano paper. This is the piece...!

Such an exemplary render, Magda! It seems that pencil must to have been just waiting for you! Now, if only I could find one! :))

Artist Reply: thank you for such a lovely comment!! and regarding the pencil, if they lurk around in Cairo, then im sure they're in other places too....the trick is to look where you least expect to find one! Hope you had a merry christmas Carliss, and happy happy new year to you!!

Magda, Such great luck to find such a fine tool to make this beautiful work with. Sometimes a magical tool appears and the work becomes otherworldly. Miguel

Artist Reply: Michael, thank you for the inspiring comment and support- it certainly is a magical tool! Happy new year to you...!
