The Eyes of a Soldier...

This is a sketch/study of my husband. Quite intense on this day and found it a profound expression to capture.

Superb expression, Kerra, you really know how to capture feeling beyond the pencils!

This is brilliant! I really love powerful portraits - done with an absolute economy of loose, free and highly expressive strokes. And this is one of them!

This is great! Your husband...- just curious, what he was thinking about at that moment...with so much tension... Lovely pencil work - you should try to do more portraits, Kerra :) You've got great style!

Artist Reply: Hey, there, Natalie! Thanks for your comment. :) Well, that's quite a question you've asked there--I asked myself the same. He was literally going out on an 'op' in Afghanistan at that moment--and was looking out the window of his vehicle surveying for 'bad guys' on an ambush. So, I've pondered this very thought myself and found it such a profound expression. -Kerra

On my computer screen, the image wasn't very clear. Is there another way to view this portrait???
