Chickery Design

I used a digital paintng of some of my favorite wildflowers as a child, chikery and manipulated it ans some effects added. It is a beautiful flower, like a diasy, with many herbal uses. Often called the poor man's or cowboy coffee as the roots can be brewed like a coffee drink. I used to pick these all summer long. My father taught me about the uses he had remembered from his parents and grandmother who all died by the time he was 5. This made me remembber it more so as a treasure, part of my heritage I did not want to lose. This cross is in remeberance as well of all of them now, so long gone. I always think of them when I see them.

Terry this is brilliant I love the colours and vibrancy and you're story telling that goes with it is wonderful too

Artist Reply: Thank you Zoe! I love sharing bits of my family and memories that have special meanings and that are treasures to me. Epressing art to go with it is something that I try to do in a way to share it. The stories just go hand in hand and add to the memories. I will have to put a memory book together once I get enough to make with art, stories, poetry, and perhaps songs as well, childhood chants to make a heritage book to pass down to family. I have been working on this bit by bit, with some photos as well to go with them. I will have to include some homemovie clips as well to pull it all together. I hope my musings may inspire others to do such memory projeccts, not just a scrapbook. I am gathering stories from family members to add in, as wel as traditions, recipes, and other events. I have much to do, and a different one for several members. It is inspiring for art and will be fun to finish.

Terry a great sentiment and wonderl rendition. Great design. Michael

Artist Reply: Thank you Miguel, my father would have loved my current works. He was always encouraging my art. I had just finished a serious of chidren's murals that he came to see himself the week before he pasted away. He loved them so much, he had me chose one of his work ladders to keep. I had borrowed one to do the murals, so I asked for that one. That was over 25 years ago, I still have and use the ladder. I remember all the paint he left on it, as well as from my work. He was a painting contractor. My earliest memories are of him and his noisy paint ladders. An odd rememberance but one I still treasure.
