The best way to hike the Naches Loop is to do it clockwise. The first half of the hike is on the "back side" of Naches Peak. A short distance past the Dewey Lakes cutoff, you turn a corner and this view hits you with pure amazement. For the rest of the hike you have a hard time keeping your eyes on the trail as the Mountain is your constant companion. For those who hike the trail counterclockwise, the Mountain is at their back. This is one of my favorite views and you can see almost the same thing from places on the highway. There's no need to hike, but then you'd miss the fun. :) (I need feed back on the first photo...can you see the outline of the Mt. clearly?? I think my monitor is going bad. The Mt. and the sky blend into each other on the screen, but when I print it out the colors are distinct and the Mt. is clear. Thanks for your help!! And thanks for visiting!!!! )
