1991 Oil by John Sandora. The painting fixes on a point. (belief in christ). If you believe in god, then you must believe that christ died on the cross for our sins. Only through Jesus is a person saved. Thus the passage: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the father but by me". You cannot believe in god without Jesus and the Cross. That's why the cross is placed so far up in the foreground and God in the background. The 2 additional crosses (by shadow) complete the triangular pattern representing the trinity. They also represent the two other men that died beside Jesus that day. This is the meaning of the painting.

The two styles do of the figures do not work well together a beter wway of portraying "God" in the background would have been to paint the figure in lighter tones of blue rather than a line drawing as you have done here.The realistic,naive and stylizing do not work well together enough to make this artwork as strong as your idea you are trying it get across to the viewer

This is very well done, I like the way the shadows cast to additional crosses. Very nice painting.
