This medium is more sympathetic for portraiture of small children. I recommend a conte portrait for children under eight years old.

lovely and beautiful!! the blue accent ot the eyes is so perfect in this portrait!

Artist Reply: Hi Nelly! Yes, the one piece of colour I use is on the eyes- just to emphasise ... and I have discovered it works!

Amazing art just beautiful breathtaking and delightful on the eye...the softness of the pastels is just heavanly

Artist Reply: Thank you! I feel that conte creates a softer, gentler approach to portraiture, and this is needed for young children. Oils can be a bit heavy-handed to portray the delicate nature of little ones.
