Of all the mushrooms that we found that day in the woods, these were the largest. They were at least 10 inches tall...tall enough for a squirrel to get out of the rain. Does anyone remember the "Smurfs"? The second photo is the remains of a stump of some kind. It was about a foot across and so unique I couldn't resist the shot. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed our "Fungi Hike"...and you didn't even get wet... :)

La la la la la la.... la la la la la! Yeah! Smurfs rock! Those do look like little smurf houses. *lol* I've never seen mushrooms so large! I have seen paintings done of small animals sitting under mushrooms in the rain, or sitting on them having tea and such, but always thought it was just a creative invention. Very cool!
