Pastel Butterfly Dreams

Fall is here again in the desert. The butterflies beginning to show up as many migrate this way and further South to Mexico during the cooler parts of the year. This means I'll be seeing lots of varieties that I don't get to usually. I love to see these enchanting beauties, and often dream of butterflies. I remember blowing bubbles for my daughters once and a butterfly landed on one on the bubbles I was blowing. Must of been think of it last night, as I dreamt of butterflies, and bubbles. A good omen, as I will be relocating sometime in the next year to Mariposa, California. Mariposa is spanish for "Butterfly". I can hardly wait to go. It's where we've always plan to go to live eventually. Where my husband's family still lives. It is the gateway to Yosemite National Park. I will be in garden heaven, and I love the beauty of the area. I digitally painted this buterfly , added in some 3-D bubble effects, and water using Corel's Painter IX.5 program, as well as Corel's Paint Shop Pro X and Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, and using my Wacom tablet board and it's wireless stylus pen so I can paint, draw, etc., without using a mouse. I love that I can use the stylus and tap it and draw, just as one would with a traditional paintbrush, pen, marker, chalk, etc., but I can hold it loosley and with less grip, and not hurt my hands and flare up arthritus or carpal tunnel syndrone in my hands. I can work all day with it, yet only short time periods with tradional medium. Highly recommend it, and all the fun it is to use if you get one.

Terry, I love your story of butterflies. It is so touching.

Artist Reply: Thanks so much Emily! Butterflies always remind me of the miricles of life. They are so intrically made, beautiful in design, kind of a bubble joy of living creatures to me, same effect of wonder when I see bubbles, more so with butterflies.
