DSRV AVALON

Back in the late 90's I came into the possesion of a faded black and white print at work. This is one of two vehicles our facilty engineers maintained, including the technical manuals I drew for. After getting permission to play with it, I started tinting with colored pencils during lunch break as a welcome split from computer linework illustrating. Six years after leaving this facility, I received a scanned image of the artwork above in my email box and did a little polishing via Photoshop. (Thanks Don) Another thankyou goes to a vehicle crew member who sent me a name correction along with some background history of the original black and white lithograph that's now underneath the colors.

Very nice. I too hold a limited edition copy (39/100) of the original. It was done from a photo by a guy named Witkolt(sp) who was a friend of one of the crew. Looks good in color. R/ Dave Ankrom (2-Boat) 1972-1976
