Up Close and Personal

When we decided on our lunch spot, I changed lens on the camera. In the first photo you can see the bottom of the Winthrop Glacier, (beneath the cloud line toward the left.) This is a very hard glacier to photograph because you have to hike a long ways to get a picture. On previous hikes to try and get the shot, clouds moved in and all you could see was gray. Never give up, never surrender. I will return.... The second photo shows you the top, from the north. As you travel around the mountain you get such different views. (Where else can you travel around a mountain.) I always like to see if one of the ice shelves will break away into an avalanche while I'm photographing it. One can only hope... :)

Your title says it all, you've managed to make me like I'm standing next to you! I absolutely love the clouds in these shots, totally awesome! And, I'll just bet money, one day you'll catch that avalanche!!
