1940's-50's, Hollywood starlet Dorothy Dandridge, had dreams of living the luxuriant life like the caucasion stars in entertainment. Radaint beauty, and talent in both singing, dancing and acting, but her ethnicity blocked her from the bonified stardom she craved. She was the first woman of color to be nominated for an Oscar in a leading role. Disappointments in love, and career all but destroyed her. When she gained enough courage to try gaining success in her profession again, she suddenly died of speculative, but not conclusive reasons.
