I was asked to do a portrait
for a dog who had died of
cancer, leaving the owner
grieving.. This image just
came to me as a way for
Fritz to say: "I am happy, at
peace...please don't worry
about me...I am relieved of
pain and free...."
Oh it so sweet and the whata great way to remeber one pet..In god hand this so sweet...

I like this because it does have a special language reaching deeper than words alone and has a very kind impact into the core of the associative bank where our emotions are wired. Very healing Sara!
So touching and so real, SARA. what a Blessing this one is. Wonderfully done. I love the way it looks so real. I was asked by my daughter when she was young..."Do the animals go to heaven?"...You know I said I thought so...I believe in their spirit, many of them love more deeply than some humans...so I guess I just can't help but think this is real. I love this work, SARA!!!
Sara, somehow it makes me sad! The way he looks at you, you can't think but, how sad that he is not here anymore. To me heaven is on Earth - in spite of all of our problems. You did a wonderful work however.
Artist Reply: Thanks for your comment, Rita. What you didn't see is that his
foot was bound up in bandages and he had trouble walking and he was in pain. He was probably sad leaving his person and everything familiar.
But I can't help believing he was relieved to leave his body...
