announces Pete Townshend onstage as The Who dives in to
"Quadrophenia".
This artwork is a homage to that opera.
It's the tale of an angst-filled 1960s Mod named Jimmy, who possesses double- schizophrenia:
QUADROPHENIA ! ! ! !
- - - - Four distinct personalities - - - -
each personified by a member of The Who.
As Townshend wrote it:
• Roger Daltrey "Helpless Dancer" - Violent & Determined, Aggressive & Unshakable
• John Entwistle "Is It Me?" - Quiet & Romantic, Tender & Doubting
• Keith Moon "Bell Boy" - Insane & Devil-May-Care, Unreasoning & Bravado
• Pete Townshend "Love Reign O'er Me" - Insecure & Spiritually Desparate, Searching & Questioning
Laced with '60s- style Pop Art, it's also an illustrated chronicle of the band from 1964 to the present
[the present being 1976].
