This is a part of a celebration illustration between I and a friend, for an art contest. The theme was music, and we both agreed that a scene from the book East by Edith Pattou. The scene is Rose with the Bear, playing a musical melody on the Flauto, which she is just learning to play. The bear is sad and hopeful at the same time, due to the enchantment placed upon him. The book is based off the fairy tale East of the Sun, West of the Moon .
