Yesterday I found this Kestrel which had apparently flown into a window and broken it's neck. I have always admired the magnificent coloring on this bird from afar. I was honored to be able to see it so closely. I wanted to honor it before I laid it to rest in my special garden next to my 21 year old cat and a rattlesnake. I think it is good medicine to share these photos so this majectic bird can be appreciated for all of it's beauty. Now it sings with God and it's flight is forever free.

Raptors rule! Kestrel falcons are some of the most beautiful of the raptors, with their majestic heads and beaks, and of course the reddish-brown coloring. Very nice tribute to an amazing predator.
