Shadows in the Sand

Sagebrush shadows seem to capture one's attention, overshadowing the cliffs behind them.

wow John this is excellent! You have a very interesting style- the shadows around the sage give this painting alot of depth.

This works very well. The plants in the foreground are the subjects that lead us back to the striking hills. They are a bit orange, which contrasts beautifully with the intense blue sky. Neither the foreground nor the background (sky) are very busy, so they frame the more complex hills.

Reminisciant of Salvador Dali. Excellent colors.

Awesome work

Artist Reply: Thank you for taking the time to comment. I enjoyed doing the shadows for the sagebrush and even the tiny pebbles in the foreground on this one. John
