The Underside of Paint

6"x12" acrylic on gallery wrap canvas. After a long day of painting, I looked at my palette and thought what a beautiful abstract. I carefully removed big and small hunks from the palette and placed them on a canvas to see what kind of collage abstract it would make. For whatever reason that escapes me now, I turned one of the pieces over and it was so shiny and bright that I decided to use the underneath side instead. I glued them all in place just as if I had painted the abstract and voila! no wasted paint for that day!

Very lovely piece and such a great idea! I had the same feeling with one of my palettes once, but didn't think about trying anything like this! Very neat.
