I'm astounded! You know the whole book is so beautiful, but as a painter I'm most moved by the pages you've done--the texture the years of withering, weathering. How many tears? Oh, but how much joy! Thank you for bringing this to all of us, Anneke.

Artist Reply: I had a bit of luck with the pages, first it was just a piece with some yellows and then when I drew the black lines with ink all of a sudden the effect of pages arose. What a lovely words you wrote to my book, Bruce! Thank you so much!

lovely medieval illumination. the celtic design flavors the book causing one to open the gold gilded pages... I can see you love colored pencil - it does give a unique look and feel to art.. LOVELY work.

Artist Reply: I think this was one of my first coloured pencils drawings. I had also never drawn a book before, but needed one for the Scrolls. Both were a very nice experience. I'm glad you like it, thank you for all your lovely comments, they are really appreciated, Barbara!

Coming to your site I am for some reason especially drawn to this one. I am not surprised that it took a lot of work! In a way I would like to do a drawing or painting with such ornaments myself but on a general level I am just not patient enough for the painstaking part of laying out details to create this kind of beauty ... :-)
