Forever Love 2

This is a portrait of my son's friend's parents. Helen and Craig. I am sad to say that Craig has moved on to the other world two years ago. I always worry about these kind of portraits, because I don't want to bring back sad memories. Jenna the daughter is giving this portrait to her mother on the wedding anniversary oh her parents. I hope this brings joy to Helen.

This is a nice, sensitive portrait. I think the receiver should be pleased an grateful since a portrait gives the subject a little touch of immortality (the finest gift of the artist). Your technical work is very nice. The presence of two people enhances the work since each forms the "background" for the other.

Great image Penny. again though, use a black pencil to outline or shade some of those darker areas, you'll be amazed at how much it lifts the picture. Keep it up, the suit is fantastic! xx

Artist Reply: Hi Hollie, thanks for the tips. I do have a few questions though, I used to outline all the time and was told not to. Was told that outlining took away from the work. So what should I do? Where exactly should I outline? Do you mean all around the bodies, throughout the bodies. Maybe that's what I did wrong. Thanks again.
