Wood and glass kalidiscope collection

This is a digital design I created using Corel software. This is a photo my husband took that I manipulated it until I created these designs. This is a collection that I put together, all from the same old school doors.

Looks like a super great digital quilt...beautiful.

Artist Reply: Thank you Tazda! Digital quilts might just become a fun way for me to show off designs. This one I wanted to show how easy you can manipulate on photo design, yet create a varied new design with a software program. The combinations and settings are endless.

Like Flash Gordon's quilt given him by his favorite auntie - cool stuff Terry :0)

Artist Reply: Thanks Chas!!! Flash Gorden rules!! Got any secret decoder rings not using? I will no have to dig out my old musical of "Flash" and have a bag of popcorn while the band, "Queen" rocks the house. I have old black & whites of the original series of Flash as well. Nerdy, but love it all.

WQNDEROUS DIGITAL MANIPULATIONS:)))

Artist Reply: Thanks Gregory! I'm still learning and loving every moment of it. I have the oddest urges to try all sorts of things, and this is one such thing. I'd like to do a painting of the doors in the future, but the manips I can do quicker.

Susan Epps 05 Jun 2006

Love this collage, Terry ! Don't start me wanting to quilt again lol.....I just don't have the time !

Artist Reply: Thank you Susan! If you get itching to make a quilt you have my permission to try any of my designs, if you post the results! One never has enough time! A quilt is just a few moments in the sands of time, yet they are tresured and handed down in time.

Excellent design work Terry!

Artist Reply: Thanks TImothy! These were just calling to me to pay it more atention. I love photos of doors, windows, old buildings and features. Worn ones attract me more than pristine ones. They have a life and story of there own, I feel. They had to struggle to survive so long, without all the protection and care it should have gotten. A sort of proudness that they are still there.

Armando Salas 05 Jun 2006

Oh, marvelous collection!

Artist Reply: Thanks Armando! I play and still work, a good way to create art! From the old, comes the new!

Joke Schotting 05 Jun 2006

Artist Reply: Thanks Joke! The door is so interesting with all it's banged up parts.

Emily Reed 05 Jun 2006

How sweet it is!

Artist Reply: THank you EMily! My husband loved his boyhood school, I love the photo that he took. He was amazed with the designs I created. We make a good pair of co-op artists!

corry stuart 05 Jun 2006

that would make a wonderful patterns for a quilt Terry whow!!!!!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Corry! Me and my quilt designs! If I keep this up, I will have to make a book on designs to sell! I am trying to get my sister to create some quitls. She is one that likes to sew by hand or machine. If she does, I'll post up the quilts for her and set her up a site on AW and elsewhere. She is setting up her workshop, she is also a talentive artist, drawing, to makinging handmade dolls. I've another sister that may start making quilts as well. I like designing them, but can not hand sew for more than a few minutes anymore, hurts them too much. Sewing machines make me mad using them, I want to sew too fast & goof up! LOL!

Pat Abbott 05 Jun 2006

That is so neat, Terry. I love all the different patterns and colors created.

Artist Reply: Thanks Pat!! I keept playing with the photo in sheer delight! I had on a lark, decided let's see what would happen if...I was so surprized! You all will have to reign me in, I'm going to go nuts trying new things to play with! LOL!

Joseph Moran 05 Jun 2006

wow, very creative and gorgeous with these wonderful and real colors!

Artist Reply: THank you Joseph! I love the tones in the door, so had to play with it. I am one that likes all sorts of wood, stone, glass, brick, etc. and fascinate with structures. It's a nice sample of what you can do with software gizmos.

Artist Reply: Thank you Thea! I am more playi9ng than working! LOL!

Tabitha Borges 05 Jun 2006

wow and it use to be a great old door...I love all the effects and the patchwork quit pattern in the top piece just greatart..:))

Artist Reply: Thank you Tabitha! The door is so worn for the students, so many have come and gone through the years! Wonder how many times the kids have slammed them with out a care? Looks to be a billion or more!

Anne Vis 05 Jun 2006

Awesome work, Terry! I am amazed at what beauty you can create from old school doors!

Artist Reply: Thank you Anne! SOmetimes I find unusual things for inspiration. The doors were so battered by time and the kids. I fell in ove with it. The brick walls of the school have stood the test of time, but the doors give it a story to tell and interest to see. There is the real beauty.

Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen 05 Jun 2006

marvellous collection and presentation!! GREAT!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you Nelly! A bit crooked, but was just trying to put up some examples to inspire others to work with digital effects. Old things such as I -you would never fall in as old, you are to elegant to be called old, should be loved and seen as they should be, beloved, and respected.
