Toxic Butterfly

This was all started with a friend's request to see some dark butterfly wings, so I took a stab at it with my style. The inspiration for the character design was the song, "Poison", by Alice Cooper. This is one of my best CGs so far, I'm very pleased with how the background for this one turned out, and that dress was a lot of fun to design. However, this was my first time working with lighting from behind, so I screwed up on the shadows for her face a bit, and her shoulder looks a bit awkward; the neck got in the way.

I have to say I rather adore this work. It's wonderful. However, the hand that's on her hips seems a little odd to me. Perhaps putting all 5 fingers was a little too much. Generally when someone puts a hand on their hip, the thumb is behind and thus, in this position, not really visible. But, that's the only iffy I have with it and I'm being nitpicky ^^; It's wonderful and your coloring skills amaze me as well as your drawing skills. ^_^

Really good! What kind of ilustration do u do? shojo, shonen???

Artist Reply: Thanks for stopping by! I try to make drawings that appeal to both genders, but my style would be classified as shonen. (Shonen is more readily appreciated by both boys and girls than shoujo)
