Dick Crum, noted folk dance professor and enthusiast, died recently at the age of 77. He taught hundreds of dances, mostly from the Balkans, and spoke dozens of languages. He was an icon of folk dance in the United States and will be sorely missed by all. He is portrayed in front of the newly reconstructed bridge at Mostar, one of the victims of the war in the former Yugoslavia. Its reconstuction is a symbol of reconciliation, a fitting symbol for a man like Dick Crum.
