Andrew

This is a portrait I did of a dear student of mine. He made each day a joy to work, and I will keep in touch with him. He's graduating to go to go on to high school next year. I will miss his daily morning greeting and big smile. I digitally painted this using Painter X software. I used pastels, airbrush, and blenders in a mixed medium to paint this, one stroke at a time. Not a manipulated photo.

Happy photo...really fantastico

Artist Reply: Thanks Tazda! I miss this guy, but will get to see him as his brothers attend the school I work at. He will be popping in for family activites with them. This one stole my heart. I was crying at his Jr. High Graduation last week.

Terry, your fondness for this child shines in this piece! I can tell you will miss him dearly! But, I'll just bet he will be back to visit his favorite teacher over the coming years! You should be very proud! Laurie :)

Artist Reply: Thank you Laurie! I will keep in touch with him, he has siblings still attending school.

Beautiful Portrait! I also do similiar work using painter IX, its so helpfull to see how you handle shadows etc. Great job!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Christi! Glad you liked this, and how it helps your work as well. Shadows were tough for me to learn to do. Look through some of my other portraits, I sometimes vary the styles I used.
