Arthur Pendragon

My painting of the young King Arthur as he pulls the Excalibur from the stone... I was trying to make him look amazed and confused at the same time as he starts to pull it, like he's trying to understand it all. I was also trying to go for a realistic(But still maintain an illustrative feel)looking young man in his very early teens... I hope I accomplished that.

The arthurian legends are my favourite mythology, you have captured the magic and wonder of the tales wonderfully in your beautiful painting! marvellous!

Artist Reply: Thank you very much for that uplifting comment Mr. McPartlin, I love those legends, he's the first of the arthurian painting's I hope to do. I'm very happy with how young Arthur turned out!

awesome painting!!!! maybe a tad more detail in in the background ..but other wise very nice painting, greatr expression on his face!

Artist Reply: Thanks-what kind of detail? I Wasn't sure if I should put other building there or maybe other people. I'm not usually good painting men or boys, So I was happy with how his face turned out, I was hoping he'd look confused:) I'm planning on working on other paintings based around King Arthur at some point... not sure when though... I have about 5 paintings in the works at once here.
