Shadow of Natalie Rose

Available Original Art
MEDIUM/GROUND: Photomanipulation/Digital Painting

DESCRIPTION: This image began with a simple photograph. I wanted to express the drama, and contrasts I'd seen in early morning light -- to add an almost mystical feel to the scene, as if one were dreaming. Indeed, I do often see the outline of the Natalie Rose behind my closed eyes. She was a regular site for some time at the shipyard in Hoquiam, Washington -- always a pleasure to see!

Love the excitment contained with the calmness... nice image, Tree..:-) Cheers

Artist Reply: Very cool! Your words describe the area, for the ocean breeze rarely is still. However, on the early mornings when the mist hangs low in the river valley the very air seems to shiver with the excitement of a new day!

How great! first-rate!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much! I enjoy this image a great deal. I would hope the owner/s, who are unknown to me, would think it a fine portrait of a fine ship.

ah, wonderful seaside abstract with sentimental tones!

Artist Reply: Great to read! By working the image as I have, the hillside shows much better than in color photograph. I love the way the valley wall almost hugs the bend in what is actually a river that flows to the Pacific Ocean, but it wasn't visable in the un-worked photo. Thanks so much for your comment!
