Humdrum Days

Acrylic on 30" x 30" box canvas. Apart from the black lines, I painted this entirely with my fingers. Great fun!

your color gradations are very tight in this painting. What else can you do now that you have mastered this style, can tou paint a human, animal, car or building? Abstract is easy. Have you tried reality?

Artist Reply: My aunt, who is 70 and has been a professional artist all her life says that abstract for her is extremely difficult. She says that painting what you see is easy.. it requires no imagination... abstracts are much harder. Obviously I disagree as I find my imagination overflowing with ideas whereas painting what I see I find much harder. If you look in my portfolio there are a few efforts in that direction if you care to see. And in any event, I wouldn't say that I had mastered anything, although it's kind of you to think so! :)
