Terry's Sunflowers

This is a work that is did using my wacom tablet & pen, using Painter IX software. I was looking at some of my old photos of sunnflowers from my garden and wanted to start a series of works with them in them. I will be using different styles and mediums for them, so they will not be the same. The day this one was done was in memory of a warm summer afternoon, with a breeze blowing. I was enjoying havesting many of my garden vegetables, including some of my sunflower seed heads. There are many types of sunflower species, some are smal, and some huge. I am planning to grow as many as I can find. They are such a beautiful flowers.

excellent use of painter IX Terry you have it well in hand.

Artist Reply: Thanks Corry! IX has so manny things to play with and for me to learn. One day, I'll read the manual or take the on-line tutorail traings that come with it. I'm teaching myself and making good progress.

Very lovely, Terry!

Artist Reply: Thank you Emily! I try to use colors in my work, some brighter than I'd perfer, as I shy away from too vivid. Used to do mostly pastel colors, so got out of that mind set to play with all sorts of colors. It's nice to try more than just the same old thing.

Gorgeous digital work Love the color :)

Artist Reply: Thank you Loredana! I used lots of bright patels and chalks, and a little bit of watercolor as well. Almost no blending on this one. I like that the chalks spread as they normally would with real ones, but I don't get covered in them like I would have with the real one. (Or smudge them.)
